Man Enters River and Disappears Under Water as Emergency Services Launch Search

Emergency services launched a search operation on Sunday, August 2, after a man entered the Narew River in Pułtusk and failed to surface.

On Sunday, August 2, emergency services began searching for a man who entered the Narew River in Pułtusk and did not resurface. The operation is being conducted in the area of the sewage treatment plant, past the so-called Wyszków bridge.

The report was received by the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Pułtusk at around 3:00 PM. Information provided to the services indicated that a witness saw a man enter the river, lost sight of him shortly after, and the man did not reappear on the surface.

Multi-Agency Search Operations

Firefighters from the Pułtusk PSP District Headquarters as well as volunteer firefighters from OSP Grabówiec and OSP Głodowo were dispatched to the scene. Rescuers from the Pułtusk Voluntary Water Rescue Service and police officers are also participating in the operations.

The search is being conducted both from the shore and from the water, with rescuers utilizing two boats. A specialized group of divers was also deployed to the operation to search the bottom of the Narew River in the area where the man was last seen.

Until the time this information was published, the missing person had not been found, and the operations of the services are still ongoing.
