Gruesome Discovery in Ciechanów: Human Hand Fragment Followed by Body Remains Found in Bushes

On Saturday evening, residents walking a dog in Ciechanów discovered a decomposing hand fragment near a fence, leading police to uncover further human remains in nearby bushes on Sunday.

Discovery of a Hand Fragment on Płocka Street

Police officers received a report on Saturday around 7:00 PM from residents of Ciechanów who were walking with a dog on Płocka Street, on the outskirts of the city. Near the fence of one of the local properties, the passersby found a body part, likely a hand, in a state of decomposition.

Officers conducted an inspection of the site where the gruesome find was made and began searching the surrounding area. The operations lasted until late evening, with police utilizing the assistance of tracking dogs. The search was resumed on Sunday morning and yielded results.

Uncovering Decomposed Remains in the Bushes

Several hundred meters away from the location of the previously found body part, officers discovered remains in a state of decomposition. The remains featured visible clothing items and were located in the bushes in an infrequently frequented spot, according to junior inspector Magda Sakowska from the District Police Headquarters in Ciechanów in an interview with Gazeta.pl.

She added that due to the state of decomposition, it was not possible to determine the identity of the deceased. The remains have been secured for examination, and proceedings in this case are being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Ciechanów.
