Scooter Rider Hospitalized After Wiatraczna Street Collision With App-Based Toyota

On Sunday, August 2, a collision between a scooter and an app-based Toyota on Wiatraczna Street in Warsaw left the rider hospitalized with a leg injury.

On Sunday, August 2, at around 7:00 PM, an accident involving a SYM Orbit 125 scooter and a Toyota used for ride-hailing services occurred on Wiatraczna Street in the Praga-Południe district. The rider of the two-wheeler suffered a leg injury and was transported to the hospital.

The incident took place on the section of Wiatraczna Street between Józef Dwernicki and Chrzanowski streets. Both the Toyota driver and the scooter rider are foreign nationals.

Maneuver and Medical Response

Preliminary findings indicate that the car driver, reversing from a parking space, failed to yield the right-of-way to the scooter rider. Attempting to avoid a collision, the motorcyclist fell and sustained a leg injury. After receiving assistance from a medical rescue team, he was transported to the hospital.

A breathalyzer test showed that both participants in the incident were sober. Police officers worked at the scene, securing evidence and conducting activities aimed at precisely determining the course of the accident.

Discrepancy in Scooter Registration Plates

Interestingly, the license plate mounted on the SYM Orbit 125 scooter did not belong to that vehicle. According to data available in the Polish Insurance Guarantee Fund databases, the number is assigned to a Kymco X-Town 125i ABS vehicle, a different two-wheeler model that differs in appearance from the scooter involved in the incident.
