Air Conditioning Units Catch Fire on Ursynów High School Roof in Warsaw

On Wednesday, August 5, at 10:36 AM, firefighters responded to a blaze involving air conditioning units on the roof of a Warsaw high school, resulting in no injuries.

Fire Incident at High School Roof

On Wednesday, August 5, at 10:36 AM, firefighters received a report regarding a fire in the attic of the LXX Aleksander Kamiński High School located on Dembowskiego Street in Warsaw’s Ursynów district. Upon the arrival of emergency services, it was established that the fire actually involved air conditioning units situated on the building’s roof, and no one was injured.

Firefighting Operation and Extinguishment

Seven firefighting units and the City Operations Group were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters secured the operational area and deployed a single firefighting water stream to extinguish the fire.

Damage Assessment and Photovoltaic System Status

According to information provided by the fire department, the photovoltaic installation was not affected by the fire. The units that burned were the air conditioning systems mounted on the school roof, and an approximately two-square-meter section of the facade was also covered in soot.

Evacuation and Safety Measures

For safety reasons, individuals present in the nearby FabLab, where classes were being held, were evacuated. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
