First Crossbow and Stones, Then a Knife: 38-Year-Old Attacks Acquaintance Again

A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody after repeatedly attacking an acquaintance in Warsaw with a crossbow and a knife, threatening him over a police report.

Prior Crossbow Assault

On a residential estate, a 38-year-old man attacked someone he personally knew. For reasons unknown at the time, he shot at the victim with a crossbow using stones, causing the man to lose two teeth.

Street Confrontation and Knife Attack

A few days ago, around 9:30 PM, the men met again on Klaudyny Street. During this encounter, the 38-year-old made threats to kill and harm the victim for filing a report against him, and then attacked him, wounding him twice with a knife. After the incident, the perpetrator fled the scene, and the victim called the Police.

Police Raid and Arrest

Officers from the criminal division immediately went to the scene and took action to apprehend the perpetrator. The officers arrested the 38-year-old at his place of residence. During a search of the apartment and outbuildings, the police discovered and secured two machete-type knives.

Charges and Pre-Trial Detention

The man was placed in a police cell. He faced three charges, including causing bodily injury to the victim resulting in impairment of bodily functions for both over and under 7 days, as well as using violence against the victim and making unlawful threats in connection with ongoing proceedings. At the request of the Warsaw Żoliborz District Prosecutor’s Office, the court applied temporary arrest to the 38-year-old for a period of three months. For the crimes committed, the man faces up to 5 years in prison.
