European Commission Decision Finalized: Poland Set to Receive Billions in RRF Funds

The European Commission has announced that Poland will receive billions of euros under its National Recovery Plan following the approval of its fifth payment request submitted on June 19.

Teacher Laptop Vouchers and Public Transit Investments

As the European Commission emphasized in its official communication, over 500,000 Polish teachers—representing more than 65 percent of the teaching staff—have received vouchers for purchasing laptops. Additionally, the fifth payment request financed the procurement of 88 new trams for Kraków, Poznań, and Wrocław.

Payment Structure and Overall Plan Allocation

Poland submitted its fifth payment request on June 19 of this year, with funds under the National Recovery Plan disbursed in exchange for completed reforms and investments. In total, Poland is set to receive 54.72 billion euros from the plan, comprising 25.28 billion euros in grants and 29.44 billion euros in loans, with the implementation deadline expiring this year.
