More PiS staff and senators defect to Mateusz Morawiecki’s Rozwój Plus association

Former Law and Justice press office employees and Senator Ryszard Majer have left the party to join Mateusz Morawiecki’s expanding Rozwój Plus association and parliamentary club.

Press office staff defect following internal party friction

One of the departing individuals is a press office employee who, on leadership’s orders, deleted dozens of members of Mateusz Morawiecki’s Rozwój Plus association from party WhatsApp groups. According to unofficial information obtained by the portal, former employees were dissatisfied with the internal situation within the formation, including its management and the atmosphere in the club office. These individuals are scheduled to discuss their future with Rozwój Plus politicians this week.

Piotr Müller of the Rozwój Plus association told Wirtualna Polska when asked for comment that many competent people wanting to cooperate are applying to their club, confirming they are currently forming a new press team and will soon announce its composition.

Senator Ryszard Majer joins Morawiecki’s club

Ryszard Majer recently joined the Rozwój Plus parliamentary club. The senator stated that this is not a parting of ways, but an expansion of the field to reach places that were previously difficult to access.

Born in 1971, Majer is a senator from Częstochowa first elected to the Senate in 2015 from the Law and Justice list, successfully running for reelection in 2019 and 2023. Majer is the second senator to join the Rozwój Plus club, following Senator Włodzimierz Biernacki, leaving 31 senators in the PiS parliamentary club—11 fewer than the largest Civic Coalition club.

Rozwój Plus activity in the Sejm and field campaigns

The Rozwój Plus club also includes 40 deputies. In July, Mateusz Morawiecki and his association organized a barbecue in Warsaw’s Praga Północ district to present their initial postulates concerning demographics and migration. On Friday, August 7, he traveled with pizza to the Jagodno district in Wrocław, known for voters waiting until 3 AM to vote in the 2023 elections, an effort Morawiecki sought to leverage.
