Flood Loan Scandal: Anna Konieczyńska Ousted as KARR Vice President

Following investigative reports that millions in flood relief funds were allocated to her husband and neighbors, Anna Konieczyńska has lost her position as vice president of KARR.

The Karkonoska Regional Development Agency (KARR) was responsible for distributing government loans to entrepreneurs for repairing damage caused by the September 2024 floods. Anna Konieczyńska, a Civic Coalition (KO) politician, had served as the agency’s vice president since February 1, 2025.

Controversial Allocation of Relief Funds

According to findings by Wirtualna Polska, over 4.5 million PLN in flood aid was directed to three entities from a single village near Jelenia Góra: the company belonging to the vice president’s husband, a company owned by her immediate neighbor, and a local television station. Journalists noted that their properties most likely were not even affected by the floodwaters.
