Building Collapse During Renovation Work
A structural failure occurred at a tenement house undergoing renovation at the intersection of Nowy Świat and Książęca streets in Śródmieście. During ongoing work, two ceilings collapsed and crashed down to the ground floor.
Worker Injured and Immediate Evacuation
At the time of the incident, two workers were in the collapse zone, with one falling from a height and sustaining minor injuries before being handed over to medical rescuers. The second worker was unharmed, while other employees outside the immediate danger zone safely evacuated the building.
Scale of the Collapse and Structural Damage
According to reports, the ceilings on the first and second floors collapsed, with structural elements crashing down onto the building’s ground floor.
Emergency Services and Search Operations
Three fire department units, the commander of JRG 3, an emergency medical team, and the police are operating at the scene, while a search and rescue group from JRG 15 is en route to thoroughly search the rubble and rule out the presence of bystanders under the collapsed structure.
