Lavrov Accuses Ukraine of Terror Attacks
In an interview with the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused Ukraine of carrying out terrorist attacks against targets inside Russia and utilizing social media to boast about them.
Lavrov added that Russia will not stoop to their level, but will instead employ significantly harsher methods to destroy everything that allows the West to fuel Kyiv’s war machine, noting that this is already underway and drawing complaints.
Moscow on US Dialogue and Past Proposals
Lavrov remarked that calls to immediately halt military actions are increasingly heard in the shared space, but stressed that a durable, reliable, and sustainable solution is required to stop the conflict rather than a superficial fix.
Addressing US President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Lavrov stated that Moscow does not refuse dialogue with them and confirmed that President Vladimir Putin is prepared to host them again if they visit, provided they bring substantive discussion points.
Recalling Past Encounters and Sanctions
Recalling a visit just over a year ago, Lavrov stated that Steve Witkoff delivered proposals from Donald Trump which Vladimir Putin considered, subsequently telling Trump during a trip to Alaska that he accepted the formulations while noting areas requiring compromise.
Lavrov claimed that a pause followed, leading to the imposition of sanctions on Lukoil and Rosneft, alongside European Union and NATO leaders rushing to Washington alongside Volodymyr Zelenskyy to dissuade Trump from further initiatives.
Ukraine Submits Proposals to the US
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio assured in recent days that the United States intends to explore whether resuming talks between Russia and Ukraine is feasible.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv has received a report from its negotiating team and transmitted its own proposals to the American side, emphasizing that the US can help reinforce Ukrainian air defense and pressure Russia to shift from prolonging the war to ending it.
