Emergency Rescue Operation in Tychy Saves Seven-Month-Old Infant

On June 13, firefighters in Tychy performed life-saving resuscitation on a seven-month-old infant after a medical dispatcher directed the child’s mother to the fire station during an emergency transport.

Coordinated Emergency Response

The incident occurred on June 13 while a mother was driving her seven-month-old child to a hospital for urgent medical attention. During the journey, she contacted the Medical Rescue Dispatch Center in Gliwice via the 999 emergency number.

The medical dispatcher orchestrated the operation, instructing the mother on where to drive and stop. He directed her to the vicinity of the State Fire Service headquarters while simultaneously alerting firefighters, ensuring they were prepared for the arrival.

Life-Saving Intervention at the Fire Station

The mother’s vehicle and the rescue team met at an intersection near the fire station. Firefighters immediately removed the child from the vehicle and, after assessing its condition, commenced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The child regained vital functions and was subsequently transferred to medical responders. A helicopter from the Air Ambulance Service (LPR) landed at the scene, with firefighters securing the landing site.

Successful Outcome

The rescue operation concluded successfully. Following the stabilization of the child’s vital signs, the infant was transported to the hospital by a ground-based medical rescue team.

The Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Tychy publicly acknowledged the collaboration of all involved services. They specifically commended the medical dispatcher from Gliwice, whose decisive guidance proved critical to the successful outcome of the rescue.
