21-Year-Old Arrested After Hammer Attack on Police in Brenna

A 21-year-old man was arrested in Brenna on Sunday afternoon after allegedly threatening women with stones and an air gun before attacking responding police officers with a hammer.

Violence on the hiking trail

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 14, around 4:00 PM near the entrance to the hiking trail in the Hołcyna area of Brenna. Police officers from Skoczów were dispatched to a local house following reports of an aggressive man harassing women, threatening them, and throwing stones.

According to the Cieszyn District Police, the suspect also fired an air gun at the complainants. Due to the immediate threat and the potential for escalation, officers entered the building to intervene.

Tensions over parked cars

Reports from the local portal Cieszyn.news suggest the man’s outburst was triggered by vehicles he perceived as poorly parked. While none of the women were injured, several tourist vehicles sustained damage during the incident.

Violent resistance and arrests

During the arrest, the 21-year-old actively resisted and attacked the officers, allegedly striking one with a hammer. Three officers required medical attention following the confrontation but were released after examinations.

The suspect remains in police custody. Authorities have secured the air gun and other evidence from the scene as the prosecutor’s office continues to gather material for the ongoing investigation.
