89-Year-Old Actress Teresa Lipowska Continues Working Due to Pension Constraints

Teresa Lipowska, the 89-year-old star of the long-running Polish series “M, jak Miłość,” reveals that her state pension is insufficient to sustain her, necessitating her continued professional activity on set.

The Necessity of Continued Employment

Teresa Lipowska, who will turn 89 this July, remains professionally active. Beyond her passion for the craft, the actress acknowledges that she must continue working because her state pension alone would not allow her to maintain a normal standard of living.

In previous interviews, including one with “Super Express” in 2022, the actress disclosed that she receives a monthly payment of 2,200 PLN from the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). She has consistently maintained that supplementing this income is a financial necessity.

Pension Adjustments and Financial Reality

Recent indexation calculations by the O2 portal suggest that Lipowska’s monthly pension may now reach approximately 3,000 PLN. While the actress admits she is not complaining about the state transfers and notes that her needs are modest, she confirms she could not survive on the pension alone.

Lipowska emphasizes that she remains an optimist. Her primary focus is maintaining the health required to continue her long-standing role on screen.

Having played the matriarch Barbara Mostowiak for over 25 years, Lipowska has stated she has no plans to leave the show. She values the work for the social connection it provides, noting that she enjoys interacting with the audience and meeting her fans.

According to estimates by the O2 portal, remuneration for a single day of shooting can reach 3,000 PLN. Consequently, just a few days of work on set can provide the actress with an income equal to or exceeding her entire monthly pension.
