Escola Varsovia Secures Lease Extension on Żerań Until End of 2026

TZF Polfa S.A. has offered to extend the lease for Escola Varsovia’s football pitches at ul. Fleminga 2 until December 31, 2026, providing a temporary reprieve amidst ongoing negotiations regarding the site’s future.

A Temporary Lease Extension

Escola Varsovia will remain at the Żerań site at least through the end of 2026. Following a June 15 meeting between representatives of WM-Sport Sp. z o.o. and TZF Polfa S.A., the landlord proposed extending the lease for the facilities at ul. Fleminga 2.

The company stated the talks were conducted in a spirit of partnership and mutual respect, aiming to meet the needs of the academy’s leadership while providing time for further discussions on the land’s long-term future.

Ongoing Disputes and Infrastructure Investments

The lease for the site was originally set to expire in June 2026, sparking concerns about the academy’s continuity. Escola Varsovia has operated there for years, training local youth.

The academy estimates the land value at 6.1 million PLN, while citing over 13 million PLN in sports infrastructure investments made since 2013. Management asserts that any sale of the property must account for these developments.

Market Speculation and Future Uncertainties

Reports have surfaced suggesting Polfa Tarchomin is in advanced talks to sell the land to Polonia Warszawa for use as a training base. Escola Varsovia maintains it is not currently party to such negotiations and has emphasized its concerns regarding right of first refusal.

Despite a planned protest at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister on June 16, the current extension allows the academy to continue operations for now, though the fundamental questions regarding property ownership and infrastructure rights remain unresolved.
