Ministry Delays E-Prescription Splitting Feature to July 1

The Ministry of Health has rescheduled the launch of a new system allowing patients to fulfill e-prescriptions across multiple pharmacies from June 18 to July 1 following consultations with the industry.

Rescheduling Based on Industry Feedback

The Ministry of Health announced that the launch of the feature enabling the partial fulfillment of e-prescriptions has been moved to July 1. This decision follows formal requests from the Supreme Pharmaceutical Chamber and extensive consultations with the pharmaceutical sector.

Originally, the system was scheduled to go live on June 18. The ministry stated that the new timeline provides the pharmaceutical environment with sufficient time for technical and organizational preparations, ensuring broader access to the functionality from the first day.

Implementation and Scope of the Service

The system, which remains voluntary for pharmacies, has already undergone successful pilot testing in Łódź and Kalisz. The Centre for e-Health is currently accepting declarations from pharmacies wishing to join the service.

To assist patients, the Centre for e-Health plans to create a map of participating locations. This resource will clarify where individuals can purchase medications in stages rather than being forced to fulfill an entire prescription at a single pharmacy, a limitation currently causing significant difficulties with deficit drugs.
