Polish Nationals Arrested in Slovakia After High-Speed ATM Heist Pursuit

Slovak police have released dramatic footage of a March pursuit involving a helicopter and drone surveillance, which ended with the arrest of three Polish men who blew up an ATM.

The Demanovska Dolina Incident

The incident occurred on March 12 in the village of Demanovska Dolina. Three men, aged 46, 48, and 53, detonated an ATM before fleeing the scene in a vehicle, triggering a massive police response.

Authorities utilized a helicopter and police drones to track the suspects. Despite warning shots and officers successfully shooting out a tire, the driver continued to flee until the vehicle skidded and crashed into a residential fence in the village of Sedliacka Dubova.

Charges and Public Cooperation

The suspects have been charged with attempted theft, property damage, and assaulting a public official. The 48-year-old driver faces an additional charge of endangering public safety due to his reckless driving during the chase.

The police credited the successful operation to vigilant citizens who immediately reported the explosion. This collaboration allowed for a rapid intervention and the eventual apprehension of the suspects, who remain in temporary detention.
