Georgian National Charged With Murder of Russian Citizen in Lublin

A 36-year-old Georgian national was charged with the murder of a 44-year-old Russian citizen after firing five gunshots, following his apprehension by a special police task force near Warsaw.

The Arrest and Charges

A special task force established by the Lublin police command apprehended the 36-year-old suspect at a hostel near Warsaw, where he had been hiding since the incident. Following his arrest by counter-terrorism units, the suspect was transported to Lublin.

The suspect appeared before the Lublin branch of the National Prosecutor’s Office yesterday. He has been formally charged with the murder of a 44-year-old Russian national, whom he reportedly killed by firing five shots from a firearm.

Ongoing Judicial Proceedings

The investigation is currently being led by the Lublin Regional Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office. Police are scheduled to bring the suspect to court today.

The suspect faces a potential sentence of life imprisonment for the crime of murder.
