Bemowo Police Catch Impersonation Fraudsters Red-Handed

Bemowo police officers have arrested a 35-year-old Belarusian citizen and a 21-year-old Ukrainian national caught in the act of withdrawing stolen funds from ATMs using fraudulent bank codes.

The Arrest and Evidence

Preliminary investigations reveal the suspects impersonated others to gain access to victims’ bank codes. Police in Warsaw’s Bemowo district apprehended the men, seizing over 15,000 PLN in cash, a bank card belonging to a third party, and multiple mobile phones.

Court-Ordered Detention

Following the collection of evidence, the District Prosecutor’s Office for Warsaw-Wola filed for the suspects’ detention. Both men have been charged with fraud and remanded in custody for a three-month period while the investigation continues.

Warning to the Public

Authorities are urging citizens to exercise caution in online communications and to verify identities before transferring money. Because bank code transactions are irreversible, individuals are advised never to share personal or banking credentials with unknown parties.
