Gruesome Discovery in Budapest: Hospital Worker Kept and Consumed Human Remains

Budapest police arrested a 30-year-old hospital employee on June 17 after discovering a collection of human remains, including organs and skeletal parts, inside his residence, which he admitted to consuming.

Police Seize Macabre Collection

Authorities searched the suspect’s home, cars, and digital devices after receiving a tip regarding the storage of human remains. Police recovered a preserved human face, skin, bones stored in a suitcase, a complete lower leg, a hand, skulls, and a heart in a jar.

While most items were identified as human, investigators are currently conducting forensic tests to determine whether the preserved heart is of human or animal origin.

Confession of Cannibalism

During interrogation, the 30-year-old suspect confessed to consuming human flesh. He stated that he possessed a fascination with human body parts, which he prepared as meals in various ways.

Anatomy Obsession and Grave Robbing

Investigations reveal the man was a self-styled enthusiast of anatomy and pathology who frequently performed animal dissections. Police believe he sourced the human remains through his workplace and by exhuming bodies from abandoned cemeteries in Slovakia and Hungary.

The suspect reportedly documented his collection with photographs and discussed his activities with family and friends. He is currently being held in custody.
