Disturbance at Southern Hospital Press Conference: “I Am Vox Populi” Claims Interrupter

Warsaw District Prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba was forced to repeatedly interrupt his June 24 briefing regarding the questioning of former Southern Hospital department head Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski due to a persistent heckler.

On Wednesday, June 24, Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Piotr Antoni Skiba held a press conference regarding the testimony of Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski. During the event, an unidentified woman standing among journalists repeatedly interrupted the proceedings.

Prosecutor Skiba initially asked the woman not to disrupt the briefing. However, when she continued to interject, he asked if she held a journalist’s press pass. The woman responded by declaring, “I am vox populi,” to which the prosecutor dryly replied, “Ah, vox populi, vox dei, thank you.”

Testimony of Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski

Dr. Jędrzejewski, who previously alleged medical malpractice at the Southern Hospital emergency ward in an interview with Kanal Zero, appeared before prosecutors but refused to answer questions. He claimed he could not testify without legal counsel, though he had not yet secured one, and requested a postponement of the hearing.

Prosecutors denied the request due to the sensitivity of the case. The witness submitted a protocol containing the names and PESEL numbers of two alleged victims, stating his knowledge was limited to these individuals. When questioned further, the doctor remained silent in response to every inquiry posed by the prosecutors.
