Dawid Kacprzyk Rejects Allegations and Announces Legal Action Against Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski

Former Southern Hospital coordinator Dawid Kacprzyk has denied recent medical malpractice and misconduct allegations made by Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski, declaring his intent to pursue legal action for defamation.

Legal Response to Allegations

Dawid Kacprzyk has formally rejected the accusations presented by Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski regarding his conduct at Southern Hospital. Through his legal counsel, Jacek Dubois, Kacprzyk announced he is initiating legal proceedings, labeling the claims as false, damaging, and an attack on his professional reputation.

The statement follows Jędrzejewski’s interview on Kanał Zero. Kacprzyk emphasized that he had previously avoided media commentary, believing such matters should be resolved through official proceedings, but stated he could no longer remain silent while false information was disseminated.

Clarification of Specific Incidents

Kacprzyk categorically denied any involvement in the death of a patient in the emergency department bathroom or an alleged CT scan performed on a deceased patient. He clarified that he is not a party to the criminal investigation concerning the death, and asserted that the CT scan incident—if it occurred at all—fell outside the period of his employment at the hospital.

Regarding a formal complaint filed by Jędrzejewski in July 2025, Kacprzyk stated that the document lacked specific evidence of medical negligence and consisted only of general claims. He added that he provided a formal response to the hospital authorities on August 15, 2025.

Conflict Between Emergency and Surgical Units

Kacprzyk acknowledged tensions between the Emergency Department (SOR) and the Surgery Department, noting that some patient complaints were justified. He alleged that surgeons frequently failed to appear for consultations or delayed them beyond hospital regulations, which forced SOR doctors to push for timely interventions in the interest of patient safety.

Broader Investigations and Political Context

The Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office has launched two investigations into Southern Hospital, focusing on alleged fraud exceeding half a million zlotys and potential abuse of power regarding triage procedures. The Supreme Medical Council is also reviewing the case.

Following the controversy, Kacprzyk resigned from the Civic Coalition (KO) and stepped down as a district councilor for Ursus. The Mayor of Warsaw has since dismissed the hospital’s management board and supervisory council, while the Ministry of Health and other state institutions have initiated comprehensive inspections of the facility.
