Knife Attack at Jastrzębie-Zdrój Hospital: Four Injured

A 19-year-old man was arrested after storming the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Jastrzębie-Zdrój on Thursday evening, June 25, where he attacked and wounded four individuals with a sharp object.

The Sequence of Events

The incident occurred around 6:00 PM at the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. An assailant entered the facility and proceeded to attack four people using a sharp weapon.

Witnesses described a scene of chaos on the ward. One person present stated that they barricaded their door with a bed to escape the attacker before eventually opening it once they were certain the ward had been secured.

The Perpetrator and Victims

The attacker has been identified as a 19-year-old male. According to reports from the scene, the perpetrator initially stabbed a patient, prompting the department’s head physician and a nurse to intervene in her defense; both were subsequently injured.

The female patient sustained the most severe injuries and is currently undergoing surgery.

Police Investigation

While reports indicate four injured, police currently confirm one initial victim from the medical staff. Aspirant Staff Sergeant Halina Semik of the Jastrzębie-Zdrój Municipal Police confirmed that officers have arrested the suspect.

Police officers are currently working on-site under the supervision of a prosecutor to determine the exact circumstances and motives behind the attack.
