Military Helicopters Over Warsaw: Armed Forces Confirm Tactical Drills

Tactical Drills in the Capital

Special Forces are carrying out cyclic tactical and live-fire training sessions in Warsaw and the surrounding region. The operation, which includes the use of helicopters, is being conducted in coordination with local authorities.

Residents have reported multiple helicopter sightings over the city throughout the morning. The military has confirmed that soldiers are participating in these exercises while moving in service vehicles and wearing both field uniforms and civilian clothing, often carrying weapons.

Public Cooperation and Security

The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has notified local authorities and security services regarding the nature of these activities. The military expressed gratitude to the public for their understanding and responsible attitude during these training maneuvers.

Strategic Defensive Exercises

These maneuvers follow the Brave Boar-26 exercises, which are part of the broader Amber Defender-26 operation. Recently, soldiers from the 16th Mechanized Division conducted a complex joint operation at the port of Elbląg, focused on responding to hybrid threats against critical infrastructure.

The Amber Defender-26 exercises involve nearly 10,000 personnel, including Lithuanian troops, and 700 units of modern military equipment. As one of the most significant training initiatives of 2026, the defensive drills test the military’s ability to deter and defend Polish territory across land and air.
