Nawrocki’s Poisoning Allegations Dismissed as “Nonsense”

Karol Nawrocki claims he survived a poisoning attempt during his 2025 presidential campaign, prompting skepticism from political opponents who question why no medical or law enforcement assistance was sought at the time.

The Allegation of Poisoning

An excerpt from a book-length interview with Prof. Andrzej Nowak, titled “Where Karol Nawrocki Came From,” suggests that the candidate experienced a sudden health collapse on May 15, 2025, while meeting residents in Ząbkowice Śląskie and Dzierżoniów.

Nawrocki alleges that he may have been poisoned during the incident, citing accounts from aides who claimed he was convulsing, throwing himself about, and suffering from compulsive vomiting while unconscious.

Skepticism from Political Rivals

Former Poland 2050 leader Szymon Hołowni dismissed the claims, arguing that if the campaign staff truly suspected poisoning, they would have immediately preserved evidence and notified the authorities. He suggested that Nawrocki’s condition likely stemmed from the extreme physical exhaustion inherent in a presidential campaign involving thousands of daily handshakes and exposure to various viruses.

Questions Over the Lack of Medical Intervention

Minister Tomasz Siemoniak, coordinator of special services, confirmed that the prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation despite receiving no alerts at the time of the incident. He emphasized that the authorities were unaware of the event for a year, as the campaign failed to call an ambulance or report the matter to services.

Siemoniak stated that the public deserves answers as to why no emergency medical assistance was requested if the candidate was truly incapacitated, questioning why such a serious matter remained a secret for so long.
