On Wednesday, an oil spill was reported in the Barnówko area originating from an inactive segment of the western PERN pipeline. Cleanup operations are ongoing, and the company maintains that the incident poses no threat to local residents or current raw material supplies.

Drunk Operator Detained at Site

The leak occurred near Gorzów Wielkopolski alongside a provincial road during preparatory work for infrastructure replacement. Local police detained a 45-year-old excavator operator at the request of the prosecutor after a breathalyzer test revealed he had nearly one promille of alcohol in his system.

PERN clarified that the detained operator is employed by an external contractor rather than the company itself. The pipeline was not in operation at the time, and the incident does not affect other infrastructure or crude oil delivery commitments.
