Health Minister Explains Source of 725,000 PLN Income

Health Minister Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda has provided clarification regarding a 725,000 PLN entry in her annual asset disclosure, attributing the sum to her previous professional activities before taking office.

Assets and Financial Standing

In her annual asset disclosure published this April, Health Minister Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda reported ownership of two apartments, 525,000 PLN in savings, 14,500 EUR, and a 2018 Mercedes C-Class. She also listed a mortgage debt of approximately 176,000 PLN at the end of last year.

Her reported earnings for the past year included approximately 113,500 PLN gross as Health Minister, a position she has held since July 2025. Additionally, she declared 63,000 PLN from apartment rentals and 725,000 PLN gross categorized as other income.

Public Scrutiny and Responses

When initially questioned about the 725,000 PLN figure, the Minister avoided specific details, stating only that the income originated from honest work as a legal advisor, manager, and lecturer, and that all standard taxes had been paid. She emphasized that she has consistently complied with disclosure requirements throughout her career.

Clarification of Professional Background

On Wednesday, the Minister issued a formal statement to provide further transparency. She noted that she served as president of the Pomeranian Hospitals for eight years prior to her appointment as Health Minister in July 2024.

Addressing her current financial activities, she confirmed that since taking office, her only additional work is in scientific and teaching roles. She maintained that these activities do not interfere with her ministerial duties and reiterated her commitment to transparency in public life.
