Prosecutor’s Office Investigates Irregularities at Southern Hospital Morgue

The Warsaw-Ursynów District Prosecutor’s Office has launched official verification proceedings following reports of potential corruption and desecration of bodies involving a coordinator at the Southern Hospital morgue in Warsaw.

Verification of Alleged Malpractice

The District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw-Ursynów has opened an investigation into reports regarding a morgue coordinator who allegedly demanded illegal payments for releasing bodies. The individual is also suspected of accepting kickbacks for directing families to specific funeral homes.

Accusations of Desecration

Authorities are examining additional reports involving the alleged desecration of unidentified remains. The incident, which reportedly includes the act of urinating on a corpse, is being investigated under Article 262 § 1 of the Penal Code.

Call for Witnesses and Evidence

While formal charges have not yet been filed due to a lack of initial testimonies, the Prosecutor’s Office is urgently seeking information. Families of the deceased, hospital staff, and funeral industry employees are encouraged to come forward to assist with the ongoing verification process.
