13-Year-Old Critically Injured in Electric Scooter Accident in Długosiodło

A 13-year-old boy sustained severe injuries on July 1 in Długosiodło after losing control of an electric scooter, a vehicle he was operating without a safety helmet in violation of recent regulations.

Circumstances of the Accident

The incident occurred yesterday in the Długosiodło municipality. A teenager riding an electric scooter lost control of the vehicle and fell, resulting in serious bodily injuries. The 13-year-old was not wearing a helmet at the time, which is not only a safety concern but a violation of regulations effective for nearly a month requiring helmet use for electric scooter and bicycle riders.

The boy had borrowed the scooter from a friend and was traveling on a road where the vehicle was not permitted. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transported to a hospital.

Safety Obligations and Parental Responsibility

Authorities have issued a renewed appeal to parents to provide children with protective helmets and ensure they are worn during every ride. It is further emphasized that users must adhere to specific rules when operating electric scooters.
