Portfolio and Oversight Responsibilities
Renata Kaznowska was responsible for education, healthcare, sports, and recreation, overseeing offices including the Bureau of Health Policy and the Bureau of Education. Aldona Machnowska-G贸ra managed culture, housing policy, social projects, and the preservation of monuments, while also serving as a member of the supervisory board for the Southern Hospital.
Criminal Investigations into Hospital Operations
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw has initiated investigations into fiscal irregularities at the Southern Hospital’s emergency department, totaling over 558,558 PLN. Additional inquiries focus on allegations of professional negligence and inadequate oversight by municipal officials responsible for the facility.
Allegations of Forgery and Malpractice
A separate investigation by the Ursyn贸w District Prosecutor concerns the alleged forgery of twenty death certificates at the hospital’s morgue between August and September 2025. Authorities are also investigating reports of unauthorized fees, illicit referrals to specific funeral homes, and potential desecration of corpses.
Political Pressure and Accountability
The scandal has intensified political friction, with Law and Justice councilors demanding the removal of Kaznowska and other political appointees from the hospital’s supervisory board. Although Mayor Trzaskowski previously announced the removal of politicians from municipal medical boards, the specific implementation of these changes remains a focal point of public debate.
