Police in Warsaw’s Rembertów district have arrested a 38-year-old Colombian national who attempted to break into a building by smashing a window with a stone before being detained by security personnel.
Apprehension and Detention
On Friday morning, police from the Rembertów precinct responded to a report from security guards who had apprehended a 38-year-old Colombian citizen. The man had used a stone to shatter a window and gain unauthorized access to a room within the facility.
The security staff detained the suspect immediately and handed him over to arriving officers. Police conducted a scene examination and secured evidence to support the charges.
Legal Proceedings and Immigration Status
The 38-year-old was charged with attempted burglary and theft. Authorities further discovered that the suspect is residing in Poland illegally. He was brought before the Warsaw – Praga Południe District Prosecutor’s Office, which requested his temporary detention.
The court granted the prosecutor’s request, and the suspect has been remanded in custody for a period of three months. The Warsaw – Praga Południe District Prosecutor’s Office continues to oversee the investigation.
