77 Penalty Points and Two Crimes: 20-Year-Old Arrested After Police Chase

A 20-year-old driver was apprehended in Szczęsna on Sunday, July 5, after leading police on a high-speed pursuit from Kobylin while driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level exceeding 2.0 per mille.

High-Speed Pursuit and Apprehension

On Sunday morning, July 5, officers from the Grójec County Police traffic department spotted a Volkswagen driver traveling at 92 km/h in a 50 km/h zone in Kobylin. The driver ignored commands to stop, triggering an immediate police chase.

The pursuit concluded in the village of Szczęsna, where officers safely brought the vehicle to a halt. The driver was identified as a 20-year-old resident of the Lesznowola municipality.

Traffic Violations and Legal Consequences

The driver committed numerous infractions during the chase, including failing to yield to a pedestrian, twice overtaking on a double solid line, and twice driving through prohibited areas. Breathalyzer tests confirmed his blood alcohol concentration was over 2.0 per mille.

The man now faces charges for failing to stop for police and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, alongside multiple traffic violations. He has accumulated 77 penalty points, and his driver’s license has been confiscated.

Police Warning Regarding Road Safety

Grójec police emphasized that driving under the influence and evading officers pose severe threats to public safety. Authorities confirmed that all such incidents will result in decisive legal action.
