Warsaw Police Intercept 10kg of Cocaine Smuggled from Spain

Officers from Warsaw’s Wola district have dismantled an international drug smuggling operation, seizing over 10 kilograms of pure cocaine hidden in a vehicle and arresting two suspects facing up to 20 years in prison.

Operation and Interception

Wola district police conducted targeted operations against drug trafficking from Western Europe to Poland. Intelligence pointed to an influx of illicit substances originating from Spain, leading detectives to identify a specific Renault vehicle involved in the operation.

Once the car was tracked heading toward the Polish border, officers monitored its progress from the German-Polish border all the way to Warsaw. Upon its arrival in the capital, police executed a dynamic stop, detaining two men aged 48 and 46.

Discovery of Concealed Narcotics

A detailed search of the Renault revealed specially constructed compartments hidden between the exterior and interior vehicle walls. Inside, officers found 10 hermetically sealed packages containing compressed, crystallized substances.

Laboratory tests confirmed the substance was cocaine with a total weight exceeding 10 kilograms and an estimated black-market value of nearly 3 million PLN. A subsequent search of the 48-year-old suspect’s apartment uncovered an additional 50 grams of cocaine and mobile phones used to coordinate the criminal activity.

Legal Consequences

Both men, who have prior criminal records and have served prison time, were taken to the Warsaw-Praga Południe District Prosecutor’s Office. They face charges for the international acquisition of significant quantities of narcotics, an offense punishable by three to 20 years in prison.

The 48-year-old suspect faces an additional charge for possession of narcotics. The court has granted the prosecutor’s motion for temporary arrest, placing both suspects in custody for three months while the investigation continues under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office.
