Five-Year-Old Left Stranded on Warsaw Platform After Train Departs

A five-year-old German girl was left behind at the Warsaw West station on Saturday, July 4, after the train carrying her family departed while they were unloading luggage.

The situation began on Saturday, July 4, when a passenger notified a police patrol at the station that a child had been left unattended on the platform.

According to Asp. Kamil Sobótka of the Metropolitan Police, the witness reported that the child was left behind as the train departed toward the Warsaw Central station.

Police Intervention and Recovery

Officers identified the girl as a five-year-old German national, moved her to a secure location, and notified the railway police dispatcher.

Simultaneously, the girl’s parents and their other child reached Warsaw Central station and alerted local police that their daughter had been left behind. They explained that the train doors closed and the vehicle began to move while they were still unloading their luggage.

Officers transported the girl to the Warsaw Central station, where she was reunited with her family. The parents confirmed the child was in good health and required no medical assistance.
