Ryszard Abramczyk, Co-founder of Leading Polish Seafood Firm, Dies at 75

Ryszard Abramczyk, who served as president of the major Polish seafood processor Abramczyk for 12 years and helped build it into a market leader, passed away on July 6.

A Legacy in the Seafood Industry

The death of Ryszard Abramczyk was confirmed in an official statement released by his family and the company. He died on Monday, July 6.

Born on June 6, 1951, Abramczyk co-founded the firm in 1994 in Bydgoszcz alongside his three brothers. Under their guidance, the company evolved into a leader in the Polish frozen fish and seafood market, sourcing products globally from regions including Southeast Asia, Northern Europe, and South America.

Corporate and Personal Impact

In a social media tribute, the company’s management and family honored his contributions, noting that he was instrumental in shaping the firm’s values and character since its inception. They described him as a mentor and colleague who navigated years of challenges and successes with his team.

Abramczyk led the firm as president for 12 years before stepping down, at which point his brother, Czesław, took over the management of the company.

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral ceremonies are scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026. A rosary prayer will begin at 11:20 a.m. at the Sanctuary of Saint Rita in Bydgoszcz, followed by a funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m.

Following the service, Abramczyk will be laid to rest at the St. Nicholas parish cemetery on Piastowa Street in Bydgoszcz.
