Aggressive Suspect Dies After Confrontation With Zabrze Police

A 40-year-old man who attacked responding officers during a domestic disturbance call in the Makoszowy district of Zabrze on Sunday lost consciousness in an ambulance and later died at a hospital.

Police Intervention and Physical Altercation

Zabrze police were called to a domestic dispute late Saturday night involving a 40-year-old man suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or other substances. Upon arrival, officers encountered a highly agitated individual who ignored verbal commands.

The man became physically aggressive, issued death threats, and attacked the responding officers. One officer sustained eye injuries during the struggle, necessitating the request for additional support units.

Medical Emergency and Official Investigation

Once backup arrived, officers subdued the suspect and placed him into an ambulance. Medical personnel reported that the man began losing consciousness while inside the vehicle; despite emergency resuscitation efforts at the hospital, he was pronounced dead.

The prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death and ordered an autopsy to determine the cause. Simultaneously, the police have initiated an internal review to verify whether the intervention adhered to proper protocols.
