Apartment Fire in Racibórz Starts on Balcony, Four Injured

A fire broke out in a Racibórz apartment on Sunday, June 14, requiring the intervention of 34 firefighters and resulting in medical assistance for four individuals, one of whom remains hospitalized.

Firefighting Operation on Katowicka Street

The fire at an apartment on Katowicka Street in Racibórz, Silesian Voivodeship, was reported at 10:27 AM on Sunday, June 14. Eight units, including four volunteer firefighting teams, were deployed to the scene.

In total, 11 professional firefighters and 23 volunteer firefighters participated in the emergency response to suppress the blaze.

Casualties and Source of the Fire

Two residents were inside the apartment when the fire started and managed to evacuate on their own. Medical assistance was provided to four people in total, with one victim requiring further hospital care.

Junior Brigadier Mateusz Wyrba confirmed that the fire originated on the balcony before spreading into the interior of the apartment. Authorities are currently assessing the damages and investigating the cause.

Traffic Disruptions and Safety Measures

During the operation, police cordoned off the segment of the road between the Ocicka and Katowicka street intersection. Officials urged residents to exercise caution and strictly follow emergency service instructions.

Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes to avoid hindering the ongoing rescue and firefighting efforts.
