Body Recovered From Balaton Lake in Warsaw

Emergency services recovered the body of a 49-year-old man from Balaton Lake in Warsaw’s Gocław district on Friday morning following a report from a passerby, triggering a formal investigation.

Discovery at the Gocław Park

On Friday, around 7 a.m., emergency services were alerted to a body floating in the water at Balaton Park in the Gocław district. Police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene, where firefighters successfully recovered the remains and brought them to the shore.

Ongoing Investigation and Identification

Documents found with the deceased identified the individual as a 49-year-old man. The area was secured by law enforcement to facilitate initial procedural steps, and the investigation is currently proceeding under the supervision of a prosecutor.

Determining Cause of Death

The body will be transferred to a forensic medicine facility for further examination to establish the exact cause of death. Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances of the incident and how the man entered the water.
