Bosak Slams PiS Deportation Plan For Ukrainians As Pure Populism

Konfederation leader Krzysztof Bosak dismissed PiS proposals to deport unemployed Ukrainian men as deceptive populism lacking any legal basis during a television appearance.

PiS Deportation Proposal Lacks Legal Basis

The proposal to deport unemployed Ukrainian citizens of military age was announced at a Thursday, August 6 program convention by Law and Justice MEP Tobiasz Bocheński.

Commenting on the PiS proposal regarding the deportation of Ukrainians, Bosak stated that what they are proposing right now, without reversing all these statutory changes, is simply impossible. He called it deceiving voters. As an opponent of mass immigration to Poland, he believes things must be stated honestly, noting that someone can only be deported if they broke the law and with a legal basis, as there is no legal basis to deport someone based on their nationality, as he stated during the Saturday, August 8 broadcast of “Fakty po faktach.”

According to Bosak, when PiS held power, they even specially amended laws so that people with Ukrainian passports arriving from other European countries could access all privileges in Poland.

Restrictions on State Aid and Patriot Missiles

In Bosak’s view, state-level assistance to Ukraine should be very significantly limited, and Poland should not hand over Patriot missiles to Ukraine, among other measures.

Furthermore, Bosak commented that if Poland gave away all of them, it would make no strategic difference regarding the outcome of this war.

Morawiecki Criticized As Most Unreliable Politician

The Deputy Marshal of the Sejm also spoke about reshuffles on the right side of the political scene and the chances of Mateusz Morawiecki’s party, noting that the former prime minister’s views are increasingly diverging from Law and Justice.

Bosak remarked that in a moment it will be hard to point out a single thing on which Morawiecki agrees with his own government, expressing his opinion that there is probably no less reliable person on the Polish political scene right now than the former prime minister.

Senate Pact Prospects and Dialogue with Nawrocki

Asked about the chances of building a right-wing senatorial pact around President Karol Nawrocki, the politician revealed that he met with Nawrocki on this matter.

One of the leaders of Konfederation stated that from the perspective of building an effective senatorial pact encompassing all opposition forces, the president’s participation might facilitate things somewhat.

However, Bosak continued, if parliamentary leaders do not want and are unable to agree with each other, then the president will not help either, meaning the president can act in a mediating role, though this certainly does not fall under the constitutional powers of the president.

Morawiecki Open to Cooperation with Konfederation

Meanwhile, Mateusz Morawiecki spoke about cooperation with Konfederation during a meeting in Wrocław’s Jagodno district.

The former prime minister stated that he came there with a message of readiness to cooperate with everyone who is part of the patriotic camp, expressing his belief that Sławomir Mentzen is very much a part of the patriotic camp and that he can fully imagine cooperating with him.

The former prime minister declared that he does not know if Mentzen imagines cooperating with him, but he himself is open to cooperation with the entire Konfederation.
