Burst Hydrant Floods Wola Construction Site and Cuts Water Supply to Nearby Buildings

Around 9:45 AM at the intersection of Karolkowa and Siedmiogrodzka streets in Warsaw’s Wola district, a damaged fire hydrant triggered a powerful geyser and water cuts.

Hydrant Damaged During Roadworks

Around 9:45 in the area of the intersection of Karolkowa and Siedmiogrodzka streets in Warsaw’s Wola district, a fire hydrant was damaged. The failure occurred during road surface work carried out by another company.

As a result of the installation damage, there was a rapid outflow of water. A strong stream shot into the air, creating a geyser, and water began to flood the construction site.

Municipal Services Respond to the Emergency

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The failure occurred on a construction site and currently does not cause major traffic disruptions.

Municipal water supply crews are working at the scene. Technical teams are trying to cut off the water supply, locate the exact point of damage, and secure the installation against further leaks.

Water Outages Affecting Local Residents

According to the water supply company, due to the failure, some residents of nearby buildings may experience temporary water supply interruptions. The disruptions may last until the damage is repaired and repair work is completed.

UPDATE: Four buildings are without water: Siedmiogrodzka 1, Siedmiogrodzka 1A, Siedmiogrodzka 3, and Siedmiogrodzka 5A. Water tankers are located at Siedmiogrodzka 3 and Siedmiogrodzka 1A.

The probable time for fixing the failure is expected today around 6:00 PM.
