City Bus Driver Arrested After Amphetamines Found in Cabin

A 45-year-old bus driver was apprehended in Iława after crashing into a road sign and repeatedly mounting the sidewalk, with police discovering amphetamines inside his vehicle cabin following the collision.

Collision and Police Intervention

Following a collision involving a city bus in Iława, the driver was unable to provide a logical explanation for the incident. During a subsequent search of the driver’s cabin, police officers discovered amphetamines.

Witnesses had alerted authorities that the driver had struck a traffic sign and repeatedly drove onto the sidewalk, suspecting he was intoxicated. While a breathalyzer test confirmed he was sober, his erratic behavior prompted further investigation.

Ongoing Investigation and Legal Consequences

The 45-year-old driver has had his license revoked and now faces charges for possession of narcotics. Police have ordered blood tests to determine if he was under the influence of drugs while operating the vehicle, which may lead to additional charges.

There were 18 passengers on board the bus at the time of the collision, and fortunately, no injuries were reported.
