Prosecutors in Warsaw have launched an official investigation into the July 23, 2026 fire that devastated a Ford car dealership and service center on Krasnobrodzka Street.

The District Prosecutor’s Office Warsaw Praga-Północ is supervising an investigation initiated on July 28, 2026, under case number 4322-1.Ds.280.2026. The probe relates to the incident that occurred on July 23, 2026, at 5 Krasnobrodzka Street in Warsaw. The case is being conducted under the provision concerning the causing of a fire that endangers the life or health of many people or property on a large scale, namely an offense under Article 163 paragraph 1 point 1 of the Penal Code.

Extensive Damage to the Dealership and Customer Vehicles

The fire engulfed not only the showroom and workshop building but also destroyed customer vehicles parked near the facility. The exact number of aggrieved parties and the full value of material losses are currently being determined.

Initial Procedural Steps and Appointment of Fire Expert

As part of the proceedings, initial procedural actions have already been carried out, including the interrogation of witnesses present at the scene. An expert in the field of fire safety has also been appointed, whose task is to determine the causes, the course of the fire, and the fire safety status of the facility.

Further actions by the prosecutor’s office will largely depend on the conclusions and opinions of the expert. First, a detailed inspection of the scene with the expert’s participation is planned, along with the analysis of secured surveillance footage and the verification of documentation related to the building’s fire protection and the rescue operation.
