Cyclist Fatally Struck by FlixBus in Warsaw

A 35-year-old cyclist died on Friday evening after colliding with a FlixBus coach at the intersection of Kasprzaka Street and Prymasa Tysiąclecia Avenue in Warsaw’s Wola district.

Circumstances of the collision

The incident occurred on Friday, July 10, at approximately 7:27 p.m. at the Rondo Tybetu intersection. Preliminary reports indicate the bus was turning right from Kasprzaka Street onto Prymasa Tysiąclecia Avenue when it struck the cyclist.

According to junior asp. Jakub Gontarek of the Metropolitan Police, the cyclist allegedly entered the intersection against a red light. The victim, a man approximately 35 years old, died at the scene.

Emergency response and investigation

Emergency services, including the fire department, police, and medical rescue teams, were deployed to the location. The intersection remained blocked to facilitate the investigation into the exact causes of the accident.

Statement from the carrier

FlixBus confirmed that one of its partner buses was involved in the collision. The company noted that the vehicle was not on a scheduled route and had no passengers on board at the time.
