Czarnek on PiS Splintering: Politicians “Seduced” and Held “Secret Meetings”

Accusations and Interparty Friction

Jarosław Kaczyński stated in an interview that Mateusz Morawiecki has a complicated background and previously attacked their side, a sentiment echoed by Jacek Sasin. Waldemar Buda announced that the PiS club is withdrawing its representatives from television programs featuring members of the Rozwój Plus movement. Meanwhile, loyalists claimed Morawiecki was critical of the 500 plus program and the purchase of F-35 fighter jets.

Mateusz Morawiecki responded on X that when arguments end, a festival of fake news and political mudslinging begins, a sentiment shared by expelled politician Ireneusz Zyska, who criticized the party’s attacks.

Czarnek on Seduced Politicians and Secret Meetings

Appearing on wPolsce24, Przemysław Czarnek stated he does not feel responsible for the PiS split but admitted it had to happen. He argued that Morawiecki’s initiatives over the past four months repeatedly hindered internal party cooperation, pointing to an interview with Wirtualna Polska and the construction of Rozwój Plus structures.

Czarnek recounted a long April conversation with Morawiecki in the presence of Jarosław Kaczyński, where they initially agreed on maintaining a unified Law and Justice party. However, he claimed that the creation of Rozwój Plus structures and secret meetings with local government officials continued behind the scenes, leading him to express regret that colleagues allowed themselves to be seduced.

The “Two PiS” Proposal and Loyalty Declarations

Confirming Kaczyński’s statements regarding Morawiecki proposing to “make two PiS parties” during a four-hour meeting, Czarnek noted that the idea was dropped due to strong resistance from Kaczyński, who insisted on party unity.

Czarnek also defended the party’s loyalty declarations, explaining they were meant to protect PiS from financial issues regarding party subventions by the National Electoral Commission. He urged colleagues to stop social media attacks and unite against the governing coalition and Donald Tusk.

Lawmakers Joining Morawiecki

Kaczyński announced that over thirty parliamentarians had resigned from the party, with the split pending approval by the PiS Political Committee. Morawiecki subsequently stated that his association counts 44 members, including 40 deputies, one senator, and three MEPs, alongside several independent or allied parliamentarians.
