Dog Rescued from Water Thanks to Loyal Companion

Rogoźno firefighters and water rescue teams saved a dog stranded in the water on Wednesday, July 1, after a passerby noticed the animal’s companion refusing to leave its side.

Coordinated Rescue Operation

On Wednesday, July 1, volunteers from the Rogoźno Voluntary Fire Department and the local Water Volunteer Search and Rescue team (WOPR) responded to an emergency call regarding a dog stuck in the water. The rescue units launched an immediate operation, successfully pulling the animal to safety through their combined efforts.

A Loyal Companion’s Intervention

The head of the Rogoźno Fire Department, Paweł Wasila, explained to TVN24 that the trapped dog could not reach the shore or a nearby fishing bridge on its own. The animal was accompanied by a second dog that stayed on the bridge, refusing to leave and drawing the attention of a passerby.

The Role of the Second Dog

Authorities emphasized that the rescued dog owes its life to its companion, with whom it had been roaming the area. By keeping a constant watch over the bridge, the second dog ensured that someone noticed the situation and alerted the emergency services.
