Incident in the Tunnel
The incident occurred on Monday, July 20, at around 9:05 PM in the tunnel connecting the islands of Uznam and Wolin, according to the portal eswinoujscie.pl. Świnoujście Mayor Joanna Agatowska also reported on the occurrence.
The driver suddenly felt faint and shortly after lay down next to his car. Mayor Agatowska noted on Facebook that it was an unusual situation, but fortunately, passing drivers reacted immediately and rushed to help.
Rescue and Response
The mayor expressed her heartfelt gratitude to those who did not remain indifferent, stopped quickly, and assisted the man. Emergency services and the police arrived at the scene, and an ambulance transported the driver to the hospital while the tunnel was cleared for traffic.
Reactions and First Aid
Witnesses of the event alerted the emergency services. Thanks to the quick reaction of motorists, the man received first aid even before the arrival of the paramedics.
The driver who fell ill also acted sensibly by managing to turn on his hazard lights before stepping out of the vehicle.
