A 54-year-old driver was detained by a vigilant witness after crashing his vehicle into the center of a roundabout in Chotom贸w on June 25, testing nearly 2.9 promille for alcohol.

Collision and Citizen Intervention
On Thursday, June 25, shortly after 3:00 PM, a 54-year-old Opel driver struck the infrastructure of a roundabout in Chotom贸w. A witness on the scene intervened, preventing the driver from fleeing before law enforcement arrived.
Arrest and Legal Consequences
Police from Legionowo, Wieliszew, and Niepor臋t arrived to secure the scene. Breathalyzer tests confirmed the driver had approximately 2.9 promille of alcohol in his system. The man, who exhibited aggressive behavior, was transported to a detention facility in Legionowo.
Seizure and Prosecution
The suspect’s vehicle has been impounded and may be subject to permanent forfeiture to the State Treasury. At the request of the Jab艂onna Police Commander, the District Prosecutor in Legionowo has imposed police supervision on the suspect. He faces up to three years in prison, heavy fines, and a long-term driving ban as the Jab艂onna Police Commissioner leads the ongoing investigation.
