Drunk Driver Crashes Into Tree; Four Injured in Dobiesz

On Wednesday, June 25, at approximately 8:30 PM, a Volkswagen Passat carrying four people struck a tree on Leśna Street in Dobiesz, resulting in severe injuries and a vehicle fire.

The Crash and Emergency Rescue

Four people, including two women and two boys aged 12 and 14, were hospitalized following the crash between Dobiesz and Baniocha. The vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree, immediately catching fire.

Bystanders acted quickly, using fire extinguishers to suppress the flames before pulling the victims from the wreckage. The driver was trapped initially, and a female passenger was found drifting in and out of consciousness.

Fire and Medical Response

The two boys managed to exit the car largely on their own before the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames, which witnesses could no longer control. Emergency services, including multiple fire brigades, police, and medical teams, arrived to find the car completely burning.

All four passengers were transported to the hospital. The female passenger who was pulled from the car remains in critical, unconscious condition under medical supervision.

Police Investigation and Road Closure

Breathalyzer tests conducted on the driver revealed a blood alcohol content of 1.3 per mille. A blood sample has been taken for further laboratory analysis, and police officers are documenting the scene to determine the exact cause of the accident.

The road between Dobiesz and Baniocha remained completely blocked in both directions while emergency crews secured the area, conducted forensic measurements, and cleared the debris.
