Escola Varsovia Faces Eviction as Tarchomin Land Sale Looms

The future of Escola Varsovia’s training complex at ul. Aleksandra Fleminga 2 hangs in the balance as its lease expires on June 30, 2026, amid competing acquisition interest from Polonia Warszawa.

Lease Expiration and Infrastructure Dispute

The Escola Varsovia academy, which trains approximately 1,000 children and youth, faces the loss of its sports facilities at ul. Aleksandra Fleminga 2 when its lease with Polfa Tarchomin ends on June 30, 2026. The academy asserts that it has invested 13.1 million PLN into the site’s infrastructure since 2013, significantly exceeding the 6.1 million PLN valuation of the underlying land.

Competing Purchase Interests

Despite previous discussions with the Ministry of State Assets regarding a potential purchase of the land, the academy reports that Polfa Tarchomin is simultaneously negotiating the sale of the site to Grégoire Nitot, owner of the Sii company and Polonia Warszawa. Polonia Warszawa has confirmed its interest in acquiring the property to establish a new training base.

Protest and Public Response

A protest is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 16:30, starting at Aleje Ujazdowskie 6 and moving toward the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. The demonstration will include parents, coaches, and players seeking a resolution that allows the academy to continue its operations. Support for the academy has been voiced by local councilors and fans of Legia Warszawa, who oppose the potential takeover by Polonia Warszawa.

History of Negotiations

This dispute follows years of uncertainty, including warnings from the academy in 2024 and a temporary one-year agreement reached in May 2025. Polfa Tarchomin has maintained that previous leasing terms were below market value and that the board must prioritize the company’s statutory goals in any future land sale.
