Evidence Recovered at Scene of Fatal Shooting in Biała Podlaska

Authorities have recovered five shell casings and a bullet at the site where cartoonist and political critic Siemion Skrepetski was murdered in Biała Podlaska on June 15.

Evidence and Investigative Findings

Investigators discovered five casings and one bullet at the site of the shooting on Królowej Jadwigi Street. Forensic materials have been transferred to the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police for analysis.

Police also seized electronic devices and computers from the residence of the deceased. The victim, Siemion Skrepetski, was a caricaturist known for his criticism of Vladimir Putin and Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Suspects Released

Two Belarusian citizens previously detained in connection with the incident have been released. Prosecutors stated that investigations have ruled out any involvement by these individuals in the crime.

Prosecutor Marcin Kozak confirmed that while several investigative theories are being pursued, specific details remain confidential. A substantial amount of evidence has been collected, and the investigation remains active.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk described the incident as a likely political assassination. He noted that if the killing is linked to Russian state directives, it would constitute an act of state-sponsored terrorism.
