Illegal Training Certificates
Authorities have arrested eight people in connection with the illicit issuance of qualified physical security officer certificates. The investigation, led by the Anti-Corruption Department of the Gdańsk Police, revealed that certificates were being sold without any actual training taking place.
The scheme allowed individuals to bypass necessary coursework, effectively obtaining professional credentials without acquiring the skills required for security personnel. The Gdańsk District Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the case.
Coordinated Raids in Pomerania
On June 11, law enforcement officers simultaneously raided eight locations across Gdańsk, Gdynia, Malbork, and the Gdańsk district. The detained suspects, aged 25 to 68, include the director of two non-public continuing education centers.
The 68-year-old director is suspected of being the primary figure responsible for falsifying attendance records and issuing fraudulent certifications. During a search of his residence, police seized 27,000 PLN in cash.
Charges and Legal Consequences
The director faces seven charges related to accepting bribes and documenting false information for financial gain. Prosecutors had initially requested his temporary detention, but the court did not grant the motion.
Seven other individuals have been charged with active corruption and the use of forged documents. All suspects are currently under police supervision. Under the Penal Code, corruption offenses carry a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Qualified security personnel are tasked with protecting critical infrastructure, public utilities, and mass events. Experts emphasize that rigorous training is essential for public safety, making documentation fraud a matter of serious concern for law enforcement.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to analyze documentation from the involved educational facilities to determine the full scope of the illegal operations.
